Financial Secretary
We are seeking a Financial Secretary to manage and maintain the church’s financial records, ensuring proper stewardship of funds. The role is flexible for full-time or part-time employment, depending on the right candidate’s availability. Responsibilities include managing accounts, budgets, payroll, and reporting to church leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the General Ledger, operating accounts, restricted funds, and investment/endowment funds.
- Process payables, receivables, and payroll.
- Assist with budget development and provide regular financial reports.
- Prepare records for the annual audit and year-end reports.
- Reconcile bank accounts, contributions, and payroll data.
- Handle payroll and track employee leave.
- Provide financial reports to church committees.
- Attend Finance Committee meetings and maintain meeting minutes.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- Experience with bookkeeping, accounting software (e.g., Excel), and payroll procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must pass a background check.
