Perry Methodist Church is a congregation of the Global Methodist Church and is governed by its Book of Doctrines and Discipline.

As Global Methodists, we affirm that Holy Scripture is the primary rule and authority for faith, morals, and service, against which all other authorities are measured. We receive the historic doctrinal standards of the Global Methodist Church—including the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed, the Articles of Religion, the Confession of Faith, John Wesley's Standard Sermons, Explanatory Notes upon the New Testament, and the General Rules of the United Societies—as faithful witnesses to the teaching of Scripture and guides for the life of the church. 

The following Foundational Statement summarizes the doctrines, beliefs, mission, and vision of Perry Methodist Church. It is based upon the doctrines, beliefs, mission, and vision of the Global Methodist Church as set forth in its Book of Doctrines and Discipline and other official denominational statements.

God -We believe in one God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - eternal, all-powerful, perfectly holy, and worthy of all worship. God created all things, loves every person, and desires that all people come to know Him through Jesus Christ.

The Holy Scriptures - We believe the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God and the primary

authority for our faith and our lives. Through Scripture, God reveals His character, His saving work, and His will for His people.

Jesus Christ - We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully human. He was born of

the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the sins of the world, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will come again in glory. Salvation is found in Him alone.

The Holy Spirit - We believe the Holy Spirit is present and active today, drawing people to Christ, giving new birth to believers, empowering the Church for ministry, and transforming believers into the likeness of Christ.

Humanity and Salvation - We believe every person is created in the image of God yet has been separated from God through sin. By God's grace, made available through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, all who repent and place their faith in Him are forgiven, reconciled to God, and given eternal life.

Grace and Holy Living - We believe God's grace not only forgives but transforms. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, believers are called to grow in holiness, love God wholeheartedly, love their neighbors sacrificially, and bear witness to Christ through lives of faithful obedience.

The Church -  We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, called to worship God, proclaim the Gospel, make

disciples, celebrate the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion, care for one another, and serve the world in the name of Jesus.

The Future Hope - We believe Jesus Christ will return to establish His everlasting Kingdom. We look forward with hope to the resurrection of the dead, the final victory of Christ, and the new heaven and new earth where God will dwell with His people forever.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ and spread scriptural holiness across the globe.  We believe every follower of Jesus has been entrusted with the life-changing message of the Gospel.

Therefore, we worship the Triune God passionately, love others with the extravagant love of Christ, and boldly share the hope of salvation with our community and the world. As people encounter Jesus, grow as disciples, and join God's mission, His Kingdom advances through transformed lives.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we envision multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ who flourish in scriptural holiness by worshiping passionately, loving extravagantly, and  witnessing boldly.

Everything we do is centered on helping people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Through biblical teaching, heartfelt worship, intentional discipleship, compassionate service, and courageous witness, we seek to share the whole counsel of God and participate in the fulfillment of His Kingdom on earth.

As a congregation of the Global Methodist Church, we celebrate the gifts of the global Church, partnering with believers around the world in humility and mutual love. We are committed to serving others as ambassadors of Christ, especially those who are vulnerable, watching over one another in love, and bearing witness to the transforming power of the Gospel.
